Sanctity of Life

Abby Thompson is a committed Christian and strong conservative who is proudly pro-life and believes every life is a gift from God, worthy of protection from the moment of conception. As State Senator, Abby will defend the most vulnerable among us, which is not just a policy decision – it is a moral responsibility.

Second Amendment Rights

Abby Thompson is an unwavering supporter of the Second Amendment and the constitutional right of citizens to keep and bear arms. A member of the NRA, Abby believes that our nation's founders understood that this right is fundamental to preserving personal freedom and protecting our families and communities. As State Senator, Abby will always fight to uphold our constitutional rights.

Education

Abby Thompson is a strong advocate for making sure our children have the best educational opportunities possible. As a product of public schools, she knows the importance of quality teachers and proper education funding. Abby has worked alongside education, business, and community leaders to secure permanent, stable funding for local schools through a countywide vote — proving she can unite people to get meaningful results. Abby believes every child deserves access to a quality K-12 education and every community deserves the opportunity to thrive. As State Senator, Abby will also support Oklahoma's Career and Technology Centers and institutions of higher education to ensure that our students have the options they need to become career- and workforce- ready.

Public Safety

Abby Thompson strongly supports our law enforcement and first responders. As County Commissioner, Abby supported budgets and policies that provide law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical personnel with the resources they need to keep Oklahomans safe. As State Senator, Abby is committed to continuing that support.

Roads and Bridges

Abby Thompson has a broad working knowledge, and hands on experience dealing with the infrastructure needs as County Commissioner. Having successfully completed the Oklahoma State University Roads Scholar Program, she learned from experts about  planning, maintaining, and constructing roads and bridges. As State Senator, Abby will be an informed advocate for sensible and needed infrastructure investments for District 17.

Affordability

Abby Thompson is a wife and mother who understands the growing budget struggles the families of District 17 face. The cost of homeownership has skyrocketed, from property taxes to homeowners' insurance; these increases have put the American Dream out of reach for many and threaten to steal that dream from our seniors on fixed incomes. As State Senator, Abby will fight against the lobbyists and special interest groups who are protecting insurance companies at the expense of our citizens.

Health Care

Abby Thompson opposes health care mandates that drive up costs and remove individual freedom and choice in health care matters, and will fight to preserve the sacred Doctor/Patient relationship. District 17 is fortunate to have access to emergency health care services, and the proximity to Oklahoma City means that world-class specialists are less than an hour's drive away. As State Senator, Abby will support policies and resources to support our healthcare system and improve outcomes.

Property Taxes

Abby Thompson is committed to meaningful property tax reform that does not jeopardize funding for our public schools, career techs, and county government. Any reform must prioritize our seniors and veterans on fixed incomes, and not corporations and large multi-property conglomerates. As a State Senator, Abby pledges to be a fierce defender of taxpayers – fighting daily to ensure every dollar is used wisely.

Abby's Oklahoma First Agenda

Abby Thompson will fight to rein in burdensome regulations, promote business growth, protect family values, and redirect wasteful spending toward real needs — including addressing skyrocketing homeowners' insurance premiums and strengthening rural health care access. As State Senator, Abby will be a champion to cut fees and hold down taxes wherever possible  for hardworking Oklahomans.
